Stupour

Stupour

This is not the point of the post but I thought it was worth mentioning.

As I decided I should try to define the stupour in more detail, I decided to look up the word.  I am an avid user of the dictionary, so it was a surprise to find I had not looked up the definition before.  I found two mistakes with my use of the word stupour and, yet, the unexpected definition suits even better than I expected.

First of all, there is no 'u'.  I could stretch it and say it is the archaic spelling but even that seems inaccurate, though the spelling can be found on the web from unreliable sources.  Personally, I am much more offended to find the alternate words 'orientated' and 'preventative' defined by respected dictionaries than to find the absence of 'stupour' in the same dictionaries.  'Preventive' and 'orient' work just fine in all cases.

Secondly,  one definition of stupor is a state of being in which the person is totally debilitated, mind and body.  While that was not what I intended, it fits the description of the prehuman state, since our sentience has not found a way to master the body as is essential for the simple effort of Loving Coitus, unlike our animal predecessors that have not the wit to do so.  The alternative definition is a state of insensibility, senselessness, which is much more what I intended.

I expect that the word stupour will suit the vocabulary for a sentient race to describe the state of the prehuman condition.  Dumbfounded also describes the state quite well.  Maybe 'clouded thinking' would suit even better, with less vituperative-laden connotations and add some very useful connotations that are very, very accurate or, maybe, all of the words should be used, including 'bewildered', 'witless', and 'mindless' to describe our unfulfilled sentient state.

On topic, I originally intended to put this in Short Takes but, it became too long and the length is necessary, as much as I always regret long posts.  There was just no way to keep it short.  The insights seem too important to advance clarity.  Also, I realized it should be posted right next to Clarity, since they are polar opposites.

Stupour and clarity can be considered the two sides of the coin of life, describing non-sentient and sentient.  The stupour of the animal as opposed to the clarity that defines a sentient race.

We remain in a stupour due to a single blindspot.  We remain dumbfounded by the fact that the act of coitus is incomplete in its animal rendition.  It clouds our thinking to the point of permitting nearly zero clarity.

We attempted to completely ignore the ramifications of the animal rendition of coitus for close to three millennia against every urge of our sentient development of heightened awareness.

This is true across the globe in every culture on Earth.  Just the details of how the stupour was enforced differ.  The range of delusions across the globe to justify the ignorance is startling.  (e.g. "Sex is only for making babies".  can you now sense the depth of forced delusion embedded in that statement?)  I still admire India's attempt to seek resolution above all.  At least, they can say, "hey!  we tried!"  three millennia ago.  Very admirable.

The denial of our sentient awareness all began to fall apart in earnest in the last century of the Second Millennium.  (i.e. about one hundred years ago)  The tide of our sentient awareness washed away all resistance.  (make love, not war, etc) We were only left with a new befuddlement.

Since that time, the male gender has continued to be unwilling to confront or attempt to address their lack as a gender that causes the stupour (the conditioning that has constantly reinforced stupour against all sanity made success nigh on impossible to even conceive, must less study in earnest, so the madness carries on).

An outbreak of sexual alternatives, to an unprecedented degree in the continuing absence of Loving Coitus, was the result.  The whole human race began to become fully aware that Loving Coitus was absent and remained convinced there was nothing to be done but adamant that love was real.  Any form of expressing it was rightly considered better than none.

While some, at least, are aware of the fact that sex should provide ecstasy for both man and woman and they find a way to do so, none have conceived of the sentient reality of achieving Loving Coitus as the only acceptable form of coitus and the impact it will cause that will allow us to abandon the stupour.

I could say that just admitting the fact was enough, except for the fact that a sentient race can certainly succeed at unassisted Loving Coitus.  Any man can master his body easily to succeed at the relatively simple effort of achieving Loving Coitus.   Hence, anything less is not Human.

Our story remains so twisted it is difficult to connect all of the madness in a rational order.  Such as, the angst of some caused by the blatant acceptance of alternative sexual orientations, as if it would end the world.  It highlights just how so many heterosexuals cannot accept the truth.  Or, the way in which the alternative sexual orientations are believed by many to resolve all problems.  Worse yet, those following alternative sexual orientations are just as adamant as heterosexuals to reject any consideration of Loving Coitus.  The mindsets of all only exacerbate the madness until Loving Coitus becomes apparent and obvious to all.  Only Loving Coitus relieves the pressure of a race that cannot face a sentient reality.  Then, if some still desire to pursue alternative sexual orientations, no one will care.  Why should they?  Why do they care so much today?  You should be able to answer that on your own by now.

We could mince words in our stupour until the end of time but, the fact is we are a thinking race that can master its body.  Hence, we can succeed.  Anything less than success leaves a state of inequality between the genders that exacerbates the prehuman condition and reverts the human mindset to that of an animal's stupour, filled with anger, misconceptions, and betrayal.

We are a sentient race that is forced by its heightened awareness to perceive the imbalance caused by the ignorant and selfish state of ecstasy by a single gender.  We continue to get closer to exposing the farce and, yet, we drag our feet.  That is clarity in the face of stupour.

Merging the act of creating life with the act of expressing love (i.e. creating love, "making love"), makes us Human.  It achieves the balance of genders that is required.  It achieves the enhanced state of existence of a race, so that can move forward with no impediments to its mindset.  It removes the stupour.

The most transformative aspect of this is what I refer to as the Fusion of the genders.  As the two genders begin to see eye-to-eye (d.e. intended), Fusion will occur.  I'll leave it to a wholly sentient, Human race to explain it better.

The exposure to the truth shakes a person to their core.  Still.  Three millennia later, we can't face the truth easily?

Of course, I am familiar with the same reaction that has accompanied so many discoveries of the past, like the Earth is spinning rather than the sun revolving around the Earth and the amusingly shocking idea of evolution and the repulsion caused by the pretty picture that had previously existed, against all evidence.  So many insights have occurred that the stupour impeded for longer than necessary.  Most are still questioned by some, because the source of the stupour remains.

Loving Coitus is the core insight that removes the stupour entirely.  Its lack caused the stupour to remain, forcing an elegant, graceful, sentiently-endowed race to remain in a bungling state.  If I attempted to put the stupour's interpretation of the animal's rendition of coitus into words, it would be, "How could coitus not be perfect as it is??!?!"  You should know the answer by now.  One discrepancy, by the way, with the quoted statement.  Coitus, as it was for the animal, was perfect and necessary for an animal.  It is not suitable for a Human, sentient race whose awareness has evolved.

Of course, realization of its lack is upsetting to the stupour.  The realization will finally dislodge the stupour completely, entirely, decisively.  It is the last, most crucial bit of clarity required for us to attain the state of grace of our Humanity.

On the flip-side, the realization of the singularly crucial aspects of Loving Coitus were just as difficult for the primitive brain of the prehuman to conceive.

There's even more to it, though.  It is the undeserved stupoured shame, guilt, fear, and ache of a race attempting to achieve its sentience.  The only shame and guilt that applies is remaining in the stupour.  It impeded in so many ways.  The race is split into a gender that is sentiently enabled and a gender that remains an animal that is driven mad and desirous of stupour by its inability to learn how to succeed at Loving Coitus, fulfilling the whole of the Human race.

One gender sympathizes with the plight of the other gender and the other gender remains driven mad and ashamed of its seeming inability to overcome its animal tendency.  It takes advantage of the graceful sympathy of the gender that has always been prepared to love.

There's even more.  It is a race that has avoided its most difficult challenge as it embellished its stupour through the application of its sentient capabilities to hide from that which seemed unachievable for so long. (see Transformation)

As I was writing this, the difference between the Eastern and Western attempts at sentience became clearer.  The East is much more in tune with Desiderata.  This also exposes the problem with Desiderata.  If you accept the failure to attain Loving Coitus as unchangeable.  It is the same as the problem with the AA prayer that has always bothered me.  It states that one should accept the situations that one cannot be change, change the situations that one can, and beg for the wisdom to know the difference.  That is actually a disaster.  Read the prayer, again, and ponder what situation caused the prayer to come into being?  Accepting failure, without questioning the failure, gets us nowhere.  It is a matter of spinning one's wheels while stuck in a rut.  "Woe is me"  We are only (pre)Human.  How does one know if something is changeable or not?

The West fell much more into the trap of pushing the limits, if one portrays it as a trap at all.  It is surely how the male gender of the West has interpreted it, to our lasting regret.

I become more and more convinced that the difference in East's and West's perspectives date back to the single event of Sappho in the West.  More than likely, something preceded that event.  Something about the culture, let this woman emerge.  Sappho was unwilling to remain silent on the imbalance.

Her legacy carried on down through the ages in the West.  De Beauvoir was my other past favorite.  Altogether, the women that subtly, gently attempted to challenge the madness of the male gender in the West are countless.  Sappho's original challenge seems to be more in accord with the latest attempts to open prehumanity's eyes, though it is difficult to tell with so little written works of hers remaining.

As I was pondering the latest example of the stupour I encountered on a social site as the shock of reading what I had to say became evident, it had me thinking about my suggestion that we should have figured out what was wrong with humanity over one hundred years ago.  We could have avoided two World Wars and countless other vicious conflicts, as our awareness began to sense more fully and openly what was wrong.  If we could have turned the corner around the beginning of the last century of the previous millennium, we could have avoided a lot of pain.

I finally realized, though, how awful the reaction would have been back then, before The Flower Power Generation.  Basically, the stupour seems to have had to confront the very real possibility of the race's demise to even begin to break free.

Which brings up the last pieces of why this challenge has eluded us for so very long.  I am not counting the difficulty of overcoming the lack of Loving Coitus, which could have been overcome at any time in the last two centuries, at least, without too much trouble.  No, as usual, what impeded us was the stupour, first and foremost.

One could say that the stupour of the animal carrying on through a sentient race was much more elemental than the lack of Loving Coitus.  It is the stupour that deluded us into rejecting that unassisted coitus can and must become a Human, loving event.  Loving Coitus suits Humanity.  It is entirely different from what suits a stupoured animal for reasons I have explained elsewhere.

Maybe the stupour in a prehuman can be best described as blindness, forced by the unwillingness of the mind to confront aspects of a sentient existence that sentient awareness makes apparent.  As I explain elsewhere, Identity Crisis.  It is reinforced throughout a lifetime. by the previous generation

In the particularly crucial case of the state of coitus, it breaks a human down into a prehuman state as one crosses the threshold of puberty. It gets reinforced over a lifetime with every failure.

The awful, destructive reaction of the gender that isn't quite sentient when confronted with its failure  builds a nearly unscalable wall of denial.
