Nature
It still stuns me how well Nature prepared the way for a sentient race on Earth. Oh, there may be a billon other worlds just as well prepared. I think I can say with confidence that, if there is another world with sentient life emerging, it is just as well prepared. The way Nature prepared for sentient life on Earth is not haphazard.
If the thought doesn't blow your mind, you are not thinking it through.
The only question left is whether we can adapt to everything Nature provided to a sentient race that can finally raise us above the stupoured animal.
