The Cleansing Rain
The lightning strikes, the thunder shakes, across the sky's expanse
And rattles deeply through the lives, in sharp and thrumming cants
The story's new perspective viewed is in the light, revealed
All distant, foreign, aching thought is, in the end, repealed
In the distance, far off, seen
There comes the rain to wash it clean
And, when the clouds have cleared and, finally, part
All that's left is loving in the heart
