"Eternal Towers"

 'Nuff said.

Eternal Towers

The title courtesy of Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Variations on a theme.

Far off, in distance, do I see

Eternal Towers watching me

The rubble standing in between

As blind as night, before not seen

So on, upon the threshold bare

I stumble through will little care

The dawn seeps up beyond the towers

Fear departs, the canon cowers

For, now, the light is opening

A way in which the wind will bring

The scent of troubles to be manned

The rough and shoddy to be banned

Revealing all to sight now clear

The troubles that I held so dear

They crumble, insubstantial dust

Enthralled no longer by the must

Of broken will to disappoint

The future rolls into a point
